We Need to Talk about Dying was Kelly Shrimpton’s second solo exhibition, held at The Art’s Village in Rotorua for three weeks in March 2020.
Dedicated to her Mum, Wendy Hawke, who passed away in July 2018 from lymphoma, and her partner, Nick Bolton who passed away in August 2006, also from lymphoma, Kelly’s exhibition was a celebration of life. Kelly believes it is important that we talk about dying because when we think about what will be important to us at the end of our life, it informs the way we live now, enabling us to live more deeply and in tune with our values.
Big mihi to the show partners: Rotorua Civic Arts Trust and the Rotorua Community Hospice
